Column internals

Liquid (Re)distributors
Internal components mounted above a packed bed, designed to ensure a controlled and uniform distribution of liquid across the bed. They disperse the liquid into separate streams, which can flow through orifices or V-weirs. Additionally, they provide a dedicated passage for the upward flowing gas. We offer a wide range of liquid distributors suitable for various applications.

Liquid Collectors
Liquid collection between packed beds is often necessary. To meet the specific requirements of various applications, liquid collectors are available in different designs. Optimized designs of the collecting troughs help reduce the pressure head in the collection section. We design and manufacture liquid collectors suitable for most applications where liquid collection is needed.

Support and Hold-Down Grids
Bed limiters or hold-down plates are retaining devices placed above packed beds to prevent fluidization, especially during upset conditions, and to restrict packing movement. These grids are designed to offer high free area, minimizing interference with liquid flow, and must withstand upward forces acting on the packed bed.

Mixed and Flashing Feed Devices
Piping systems within a column are essential for introducing feeds and sometimes for withdrawing products. These systems need to be custom-engineered in coordination with other column internals to meet process requirements and mechanical specifications. MTE has developed engineering standards for internal piping design to ensure that liquid feeds function properly with liquid distributors and that inlet vapor velocities do not lead to maldistribution.
